It got 3stars because i feel with a better design of the shock collar it would actually deploy....i read tons of reviews saying non deployment but still cut found deer 100+yards from stand etc, i thought nah ive always had them work (old style with O ring) well i shot a deer it deployed one blade the other two were still locked in the petals until i forcefully pulled them out. I did find the deer minimal to zero blood and about 150yards from where it was shot (lung shot)
So yes the still work but im wondering if the collar had more fine slits to still hold the blades but also make the collar weak enough to break and deploy on impact that it wouldnt be much better?
I have extra collars it is something im going to try doing with a razor blade and find out if its better otherwise i guess ill be finding another brand unfortunately
In 56 years of Bowhunting, and 40 years in the archery business, the Rage 3 blade is the BEST broadhead I have ever used. To date, I have taken 36 whitetails with this model head, and only had three get out of sight, before they went down. I've gotten spoiled, as I expect to see them fall in sight.
Just an amazing flying and destructive broadhead. Highly recommend
