This part was the replacement for one I'd purchased recently. Upon installation, the first replacement broke immediately. This one looks identical the the first one. This crossbow is over 3 years old & has never had an issue until now.

The replacement Bolt Retainer Springs are very straight pieces of thin metal and come no where close to being near the rails to properly hold the bolt. The original that was on my crossbow was curved. I have to manually bend this metal in hopes of not creating a weak point which is what may have happened with the original. This makes me think that the first time the cocking string hook catches it like the original it will snap off and I will be replacing it again and again.

This was a direct replacement for my Carbon Express X-force Piledriver 390 crossbow. It was very confusing to order because 1 item said X-force but not Piledriver, another said Piledriver but not X-force. I finally on the 3rd try was told the correct one for my Carbon Express was the Rocky Mountain version (the 1 without a picture). It bolted right on and hopefully will not bend again (I bought a couple).
